Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic says that when he returns to action this season he will be “better than before.” In terms of a time table, the Swede said that he would come back “today” if it were up to him. Just three days ago, Ibrahimovic said that his knee is “almost there.”
Additionally, he posted a picture of himself running on a treadmill that same day with the caption: “Tell Jose I’m coming.” United manager Jose Mourinho has said that Zlatan will return to action some time in the New Year.
United’s leading scorer however, seems to believe that he could be coming back ahead of his manager’s schedule.
“I feel good,” told official Inside United. “I have trained every day since I had my knee operated on, there is no vacation.”
“When I come back to play football on the field I will be better than before, I am not coming back because I am the one I am, I am coming back to be a better version of the old one.”
“I feel good and I feel my movements are there. If it was up to me I would like to play football today but it doesn’t work like that.
“I need to have patience and that’s the way we work. We are in no rush, when we are ready we will be ready. When I am playing again I don’t want any excuses that I was injured, or ‘he just came back, this is his first game’.
“No, I want to feel the same pressure I had before because everything happened. I am looking forward to that moment.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was United’s leading scorer last season, scoring 28 goals in 46 total appearances. During a public appearance on Tuesday he gave a message to supporters: “I want everybody to have patience, and when I come back, the world will know.”
