Today broughts the 94th edition of the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. The clash will saw Jose Mourinho, a two-time Champions League winner and eight-time league title manager, lead FA Cup winner Manchester United to a 2-1 win over reigning English Premier League Champions Leicester City.

Was it a glorified friendly? Yes, probably but it’s the first official, real game for Mou and Zlatan Ibrahimovic at United.

Over the weekend Ibra guaranteed that United would be the victors in the Community Shield today.

Ibrahimovic told MUTV: “That is the first trophy game — and that is the first trophy we will bring home.

“For me, every trophy is very serious. I have collected 30 trophies, and I want to collect more of them. I’m not satisfied until I collect everything. That’s what we play for.

“I came here to win. I believe the philosophy is the same for the club, especially a club like this. They are made to win.”

He then followed up this bold statement by scoring the game-winner today in the 83′ here’s the footage:

What a story book turn of events. The very man who guaranteed victory before the match, delivers it with the game-winner late in the match. That’s almost WWE scripted style drama there. Ibrahimovic took a beautiful cross into the box from Defender Antonio Valencia and converted with a gorgeous header.

It was a beautiful pass and play from Valencia, and a sublime header from Ibra who beat Capt. Morgan in the air. (Most apt nickname in sports there by the way, the Jamaican and Leicester City Captain named Wes Morgan)

Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his arrival to English football with authority today. It seems like the start of something special for big Z at Old Trafford.
