A new BBC documentary will spotlight Wayne Rooney and his personal life.
In “Wayne Rooney: The Man Behind The Goals,” the viewer gets a glimpse into the home lives of Rooney, his wife Coleen and their sons Kai and Klay. There’s one revelation in the film that’s getting a lot of attention: the love poems that the England and Manchester United Captain sometimes writes to his wife.
“I used to love writing poems, even before I was with Coleen,” Wayne is quoted.
“I don’t know why, I used to like write little stories, too. So when I first got with Coleen, I used to write her lots of poems. They have died down a bit of late.”
Watching Wayne Rooney in a press conference or post match interview, he almost never shows any emotion. He doesn’t usually ever say all that much, and what he does say almost never conveys much emotion. So this is quite the revelation here.
“Recently we went on holiday,” Coleen said.
“I went to bed with the kids and when I got up the next morning there was a poem on the side, which was nice. I’ve got a collection somewhere.”
We certainly see a completely different side of Wayne Rooney now after learning of this.
