After Sunday’s exceedingly dull Manchester Derby, frustration with Wayne Rooney reached an all time high. United supporters wonder what can be done about him. No one believes however that he deserves to have a laser pointer directed at his face while he’s attempting a penalty kick.
That’s what actually occurred last night in the League Cup elimination loss. Today, the Football Association is beginning an investigation into the incident.

More on the Wayne Rooney laser pointer incident, via NBC Sports:
It is believed the laser came from the away end, the same end of the pitch where the penalty shootout was conducted, as over 7,000 Middlesbrough fans descended on Old Trafford to cheer on their side to a memorable victory which set up a League Cup quarterfinal clash at the Riverside against Everton.
The FA has confirmed they are looking into the incident as TV footage shows a green laser being pointed in Rooney’s face before he steps up to take the spot kick.
Manager Louis van Gaal said that he is sick of fielding questions about how poor Rooney’s form has been, and what he should/can/will do about it.
United supporters unleashed their frustration in this video posted by Full Time DEVILS on their YouTube channel. FTD went out to Old Trafford yesterday and gauged the temperature of the supporter base. Watch the video below, the Wayne Rooney criticism (and that critique is certainly deserved) begins around the 1:00 mark:
You got to be impressed by the knowledge base of the child Man United supporters, they really have insight and wisdom way beyond their years. It is perplexing though, the Wayne Rooney quandary. Even his biggest defenders have jumped off the bandwagon as they can no longer stick up for his poor play.
