It was a very, very long time coming, but Southampton left-back Luke Shaw complete his record-setting transfer to Manchester United. He received the most well compensated contract for a teenager in football history. And Ander Herrera was inked just a couple days before. Feyenoord‘s Stefan de Vrij is a name that’s coming up in reports.
He might likely be the third summer signing at Old Trafford.
We’re just hours away from Netherlands versus Mexico, and Louis van Gaal is looking to make Stefan de Vrij join him, and to enter the category of Robin van Persie: playing for him for both club and country. From the Sunday Express:
“It is thought De Vrij could arrive in Manchester for a fee in the region of £8m.
It now remains to be seen how far the Netherlands go in the World Cup, any deal unlikely to be confirmed until the Dutch are eliminated.”
