Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has avoided punishment following an investigation by the Football Association into his allegedly kicking an opponent this past weekend. In the 1-0 home over Brighton and Hove Albion, Lukaku aimed a couple of kicks at the Seagulls’ Gaetan Bong.
Here is video of the 24-year-old becoming entangled with the Cameroon defender. Have a look at judge for yourself:

According to multiple sources, Lukaku will not face any disciplinary action over this entanglement and thus he will be available for the big fixtures that United have coming up soon. After a visit to Watford tomorrow night, United take on top four contenders Arsenal and table toppers Manchester City. It had been previously thought that Lukaku could receive a three match ban for this incident and thus be missing in action for the trio of clashes.
Clever from Lukaku. Can't go missing in big games if you're not playing in them… pic.twitter.com/Gu40qszClr

However, the FA ruled otherwise and that has the football world reacting rather colorfully and passionately.
Here is just a small sample of the funnier Tweets and stronger takes that we saw today on the Romelu Lukaku incident and ruling.

BREAKING NEWS: Romelu Lukaku will face NO ACTION for kicking another player, because he plays for Man Utd and Jose Mourinho would prefer if he didn't.

Romelu Lukaku still trending. Haven't seen this much fuss over a Bong hit since my mum caught me and Stoner Joe on the mitch from school.
