Current Manchester United star striker Robin Van Persie is featured in a new FIFA World Cup video promotion. Robin Van Persie may be on a completely different team by the time the actual event rolls around. It’s been a rough year for RVP,  he’s been out of sight, recovering from injury as the Premier League side of which he is apart has been falling apart. van Persie called his team’s form “lousy” in the 2-0 Champions League loss to Olympiacos. And explicitly blamed his teammates for the loss.

It’s been a disastrous year for Manchester United and Robin van Persie, and the Dutch star is quite unsettled. With roughly six months until the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, of which RVP will undoubtedly be huge for Holland, he needs to get content again.

Former Holland captain Krol believes that Robin van Persie is suffering from a lack of self-belief at Old Trafford this season.

“I watched him play against Olympiacos the other night in the Champions League and he failed to put away a chance that he would normally score blindfolded,” Krol told Goal.

“Then his reaction later spoke volumes. He is not settled – actually the whole team is lacking self-belief.

Robin van Persie is “uncertain about continuing at the club” because of the changes Manchester United has made under first-year manager David Moyes, the Guardian reports.

“It is understood that Robin van Persie was particularly disappointed when Sir Alex Ferguson, Moyes’s predecessor, retired at the end of last season,” the report says.

“Ferguson was a key factor in Van Persie agreeing to sign for United from Arsenal in the summer of 2012, even though Manchester City had offered him a higher salary.”
