Today it was made public that Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand will be a television pundit for BBC during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The BBC said Rio Ferdinand will be part of its punditry team in Brazil alongside former England players Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer and Red Devils staple, Class of ’92 member Phil Neville.
The story dominating football today was the World Cup Draw, and the groupings were announced on ESPN today. Brazilian actress/model Fernanda Lima, hostess of the show, was the talk of the internet. Here’s the Fernanda Lima photo gallery, and you can see why she was the talk of social media today.
Back to Rio Ferdinand, who will also have a role with social media during the World Cup, said:
“I’ll be cheering on England, especially with quite a few of my clubmates involved. But there’ll be a great array of Premier League players on display throughout the tournament and I’m excited to see how they all perform on the big stage.”
