The CIES Football Observatory, billed as an independent study center specializing in football statistical analysis, published the results of another study today- the top 50 value add list. These are the players that if sold, would net their teams the greatest profit on the initial investment. Four Manchester United players made the list, which covers the entire world of football.

Marcus Rashford led the way at #7, as the study found a sale of the forward would net the club 112 million Euro. Romelu Lukaku was 35th, at 60 million Euro. January transfer window acquisition Alexis Sanchez was right behind him, tied for 37th at 59 million Euro.

Finally, another young promising United attacker, Jesse Lingard, came in tied for 42nd at 56 million Euro. Of course, in the real world, any player is only worth as much as a team is willing to pay for him. It all makes for some very interesting discussion though.

The CIES is an independent study centre located in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It was created in 1995 as a joint venture between FIFA, the University of Neuchâtel, the City and State of Neuchatel.
