Paul Pogba gave a very passionate pregame speech ahead of France’s 4-3 round-of-16 win over Argentina in the 2018 World Cup. That speech, which heavily involved Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, is featured in a French TV documentary. The clip surfaced on Wednesday and it’s making the rounds all over the internet.
“Messi or no Messi, we don’t give a shit,” the Manchester United midfielder said, calling upon his teammates to “kill” their opponents, regardless of Messi’s presence. France rallied from behind 2-1 to reach the quarterfinals. Have a watch below:

Ahead of the World Cup, Pogba was the subject of hissing and jeering from his own fans. France manager Didier Deschamps publicly called upon Pogba step up and become a leader for Les Bleus in this tournament. As you can see from this video, he did just that (and more), and he helped lead the French to glory.
Now it’s on United manager Jose Mourinho to finally figure out this season how to get the best out of Pogba consistently; like Deschamps did.
Pogba’s first two seasons back at United have been inconsistent and uninspiring, as there’s been friction between him and Mourinho.
