Paul Pogba Named Captain for United Champions League Clash

Manchester United head into tonight’s UEFA Champions League clash at FC Basel needing just a single point to punch their ticket through to the knockout round. The MUFC starting XI for this match has now been named, and here is the team that Jose Mourinho has decided to go with.

Paul Pogba, in just his second game back from a long injury layoff, has earned the captain’s armband. The official team captain for this season, Michael Carrick, remains out with a long term injury. Sergio Romero was the official #1 for the European campaign last season, as you saw him in goal for all of  United’s Europa League competition.

Here is the link to our starting XI prediction, just in case you want to look at what we got right and what we got wrong.

He was handed a rare start tonight, along with Jesse Lingard, who also doesn’t see the first team that often these days.

Here is the rest of the starting XI, and the available substitutes, via the official Man United Twitter account.

Enjoy the match!
