After the disastrous loss at Everton on Easter Sunday, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer openly questioned the desire and motivation of his own players.

With that, you knew some major changes were coming to his next starting XI, and that’s exactly what has happened. for the Manchester derby tonight, Solskjaer handed a rare start to Andreas Pereira, and an even rarer start to defender Matteo Darmian. While Solskjaer didn’t name names when it came to pointing out who needed a “reality check,” he did say that Anthony Martial recently needed a talking to.

Thus it’s really not surprising at all to see Martial get benched tonight. Five changes were made with Nemanja Matic also deservedly dropped. Here is the full line-up of five defenders, three midfielders and two forwards.

No Lukaku in the first team either.
