Manchester United Manager Louis van Gaal confirmed that Defender Matteo Darmian will be out for “several weeks” with a dislocated shoulder. Darmian sustained the injury in United’s shockingly inexplicable loss to a relegation fodder of a side. Sunderland, currently 19th of 20 in the Premier League table, beat United 2-1 today at the Stadium of Light.
Darmian getting hurt adds injury to insult. The United boss gave the following update on the Italian right back:

“When you analyze the things that have happened to Manchester United his season, it’s unbelievable,” said Van Gaal.
“Another full-back who is injured and we don’t have many full-backs left.”
Darmian has arguably been the club’s second best defender this season behind only Chris Smalling. His absence is yet another huge blow to a club already ravaged by injury in the back line. The Red Devils have been playing with essentially a third choice at left back for quite some time as Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo have both been missing for months.
Now sans Darmian they’re going to have some major issues on the right side too.
