Perhaps no one single Manchester United player embodies the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turnaround as much as Marcus Rashford. The Red Devils have now won all seven matches across all competitions (six in the Premier League) since Solskjaer took over for the sacked Jose Mourinho, and they now find themselves just three points off the pace of the top four.
Rashford scored the game winning goal (and it was indeed a beauty, see the footage of it here) on Saturday against Brighton, giving him seven strikes in his last 10 games.
The young English international is realizing his tremendous potential now to the fullest, and his elite form is inspiring Solskjaer to once again compare him to Tottenham Hotspur superstar Harry Kane.
With Kane now out injured until March, Solskjaer believes that Rashford is arguably the Premier League’s best striker.
“You can argue for many strikers but I’m glad he’s in my team. Harry Kane is injured so maybe that gives him the best chance to be the best one at the moment,” the 45-year-old Norwegian said.
The United caretaker manager says that Rashford is now performing at a level superior to any form he has previously displayed in his four years with the senior team.
“No one beats him on work-rate, no one beats him on attitude and he’s very confident in front of goal at the moment, he finishes, tries to shoot, he doesn’t think twice about it.”
“I think he’s playing the best football in his career.”
