Manchester United have begun the negotiating process for Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus. According to the German publication Bild. United’s hopes of landing Reus received a boost a few days ago after he was coy about signing a new deal. However, obtaining Marco Reus is going to cost even more than the Red Devils thought.
Manchester United know they need to offer £29.3million for Marco Reus to trigger his buy-out clause with Dortmund.
The Mail reported on Boxing Day that the total cost for Marco Reus will be 40 million pounds. Everyone knows Reus has been a United target for a long time. They will have to outspend another big name international football brand in Europe, Real Madrid, in order to get him.
It remains to be seen how the unsettled Manager position will affect the summer transfer window, including Marco Reus. It’s thought that Louis van Gaal could sign a deal and be announced as the next boss by Wednesday. Having that settled would certainly help.
