Barca’s transfer ban could get in the way of Manchester United’s plan to scoop up Marco Reus. Barcelona have been given a 14-month transfer ban by FIFA which means they will not be able to sign any players until 2015. The Catalan club picked up the penalty for breaking the rules on signing international players which are under the age of 18.
Now United have been told that they must wait on Barca’s appeal to overturn the ban if they want to sign Marco Reus this summer.
Moyes and United have long been keen on Reus, and want to move in the next transfer window. However, [FDN] understands that Catalan side Barcelona have already agreed a fee and terms with the German international over a potential summer move.
Manchester United know they need to offer £29.3million for Marco Reus to trigger his buy-out clause with Borussia Dortmund. They are currently trying to persuade the 24-year-old to sign a new contract, with the aim of increasing his release clause.
But that’s only the beginning of the expenses!
The Mail reported on Boxing Day that the total cost for Marco Reus will be 40 million pounds.
