Finally, the boring international break is drawing to a close. We’re all really starting to run out of story-lines. Or at least we were, until the Manchester United injuries struck. The loss of Daley Blind is a huge setback. David de Gea has been carrying United this season, so his absence, if it happens, would be devastating. Here’s the TV info and mini-preview of sorts from NBC Sports Group:
Arsenal and their leading scorer Alexis Sanchez (eight goals, third-most in BPL) host Manchester United this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBC and mun2, highlighting NBC Sports Group’s Premier League coverage this weekend. Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck will be facing his former team for the first time this season after transferring from the Red Devils in September. NBC Sports Group’s Premier League lead play-by-play announcer Arlo White calls the match, joined by Lee Dixon at Emirates Stadium.
One angle to Manchester United vs Arsenal (and NBC overlooked this for obvious reasons) is that the game will be a matchup of teams with injury crises in the back line, and both will likely have to cobble together a patchwork lineup of defenders
