The mid November international break is certainly the perfect time to talk some transfer rumors, as the January window will be here before you know it. In this article we focus on Manchester United, and there is a whole lot of ground to cover so let’s dive right in, starting with a striker reportedly worth £30 million.
Metro claim that United have “expressed interest in signing Brazil and Gremio forward Everton Soares.” ESPN FC adds that “United’s South American scouts have been watching Everton, who has also been linked with Manchester City.”
How would the 22-year-old fit in at Old Trafford? Well, let’s take a look at the current forward position group. Anthony Martial has been on fire lately, Marcus Rashford obviously has a ton of potential and deserves his opportunities, Romelu Lukaku is banged up and just having an awful year and Alexis Sanchez has been a total bust and might be on the way out soon.
So while the position group is crowded, it’s not a very productive one, so maybe change will (and should) indeed be coming in the next transfer window or two. That brings us to another striker transfer target, one that we saw linked with United quite a bit in the summer- Marko Arnautovic.
He’s also a target of Chelsea and Everton. The West Ham United man had made some big. bold wage demands, and it appears the London club are not interested in meeting him where he is right now. That’s obviously a big transfer boost for all the clubs monitoring him right now.
Finally, it wouldn’t be Man United transfer talk without an item on a central defender. That is obviously United’s top area of need and the position they have made an aggressive push to upgrade in 2018. Maybe Diego Godin of Atletico Madrid will be the answer? With his contract reportedly winding down, the Manchester Evening News reports that Old Trafford feel confident they will sign him.
