Manchester United fanzine “Red Issue” took an interesting approach to the infamous airplane flyover protest against Manager David Moyes that took place during last weekend. A Manchester United fan blog rented a plane to protest Moyes and “The Chosen One” banner that resides at Old Trafford. During the match against Aston Villa the plane towed a banner reading “Wrong One-Moyes Out.”
Perhaps emboldened by the backlash, perhaps only coincidence, but Moyes led Manchester United to a very convincing win. Just their second against a team in the Premier League’s top nine.
In the latest Red Issue, on sale before today’s Champions League showdown with Bayern Munich, David Moyes is captioned laughing off the protest and even conspiring along with it. His coaching staff is “on to him.”
