Man United vs Fulham Injury Report: Martial, Smalling, Jones, Bailly, McDonald

Manchester United are winless in their last four Premier League matches, but tomorrow sees the Red Devils welcome last place Fulham FC to Old Trafford. You can’t ask for a more favorable matchup than this, the league’s bottom side at home, when you’re trying to break out of a slump.

That said, we just saw United drop points at Southampton, a side currently residing in the relegation zone, last weekend so you just never know what might happen with this Red Devils team.

Let’s take a look at the injury/fitness/availability situation here, starting with the hosts.

Forward Anthony Martial is a doubt after suffering an unspecified fitness issue during midweek. Obviously, Martial is a player who is key to what United like to do in attack.

There is still potential for an injury crisis at central defender again, as Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly all faces late fitness tests. In staying with the back line, Luke Shaw is probable after missing the draw with Arsenal due to a knock. Fellow fullback Ashley Young is back from suspension.

Victor Lindelof (groin) and Alexis Sanchez (hamstring) remain long term absentees.

Fulham, who have entrusted Claudio Ranieri to guide them to top flight safety, have a pretty fit squad. Kevin McDonald and Floyd Ayite have progressed in their recovery from respective hamstring and groin injuries to the point where they both could feature.

However, the former would not likely to feature in the starting lineup, only on the bench.

  1. Remember, Woodward doesn’t have the slightest clue about football and Sir Alec chose the ” football genius”, David Moyes. Forget Pocchetino and his “also-ran” background. Rather appoint Zidane who has the winning credentials or Steven Gerrard who is dedicated to winning as he is showing in his first season up north. MUFC fans deserve something good after years in the wilderness.
