It continues to be a very exciting summer at Manchester United, with plenty of topics to discuss. While we still have a bit of time until the preseason begins, there is no shortage of topics to discuss today.

So let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet this Tuesday.

Romelu Lukaku, Marouane Fellaini and Belgium were eliminated from the World Cup today by Paul Pogba and France. Belgium now goes to the third place game on Saturday where they’ll face the loser of England-Croatia tomorrow.

Both Fellaini and Lukaku were top trending terms on social media today, and the reasons why weren’t good. Fellaini started on the left wing and had a really poor game. Lukaku was a total non factor. He had very few touches, didn’t get service and couldn’t impose his will.

Of course, don’t let one bad game, by both players, take away from the fact that the duo put in excellent overall performances this tournament. This piece on The Ringer about Lukaku and the evolution of the modern striker is a must read, and a lot of what’s emphasized in that article certainly applies.

Also, today is the one year anniversary of Lukaku announcing his transfer to United while in Los Angeles, and doing it Hollywood style with his best buddy Pogba.

-Finally, defender Daley Blind is a player that United are reportedly willing to part with, but not for cheap. The Dutchman has been previously linked with a move to Italy, but perhaps a return to Ajax could be in the cards?
