-We start with Jesse Lingard, who scored his first career World Cup goal for England yesterday, and saw himself trending all over the world on social media because of it. Today brings a plethora of Lingard links.
The United winger stole the show by displaying the best acting chops and comedic timing of the six Three Lions players featured in this Late Late Show video, which encourages Americans to root for England in this World Cup.
Elsewhere, the Daily Mail writes that Lingard saw his individual player rating increase in the FIFA 18 video game, due to his star turn in England’s record setting World Cup 6-1 rout of Panama yesterday. Also, the Manchester Evening News writes on Monday that Lingard is finally getting the credit he deserves now.
-Turning to the transfer market, teenage sensation Kylian Mbappe may have to be sold by Paris Saint-Germain, due to Financial Fair Play concerns. If so, United will battle cross town rivals Manchester City to acquire his services.
-Finally, in sticking with a young Frenchman forward and transfer rumors, Anthony Martial wants out of United, but manager Jose Mourinho wants him to stay. The Daily Express writes that Mourinho has gotten into a row with Martial’s agent. In relation to the item above, the Daily Mirror have reported that Martial could be a part of a deal with PSG to get Mbappe.
The concept makes sense, as PSG is one of those teams that has consistently been linked with Martial.
