Manchester United Defender Luke Shaw, who was signed last summer for a British transfer fee record by a teenager, has had his share of fitness issues since he arrived at Old Trafford. International duty supposedly kept him from being match fit when he first came to play for the Red Devils, then he injured his ankle in United’s 2-1 win at Arsenal on November 22nd last season.
There were more setbacks, and Shaw started just 18 games across all competition in 2014-15.
But today, he’s healthy, fit and settling in as the starting left back.
“It’s the best I’ve felt in a long while,” he told MUTV.
“I’m aiming to keep putting in good performances and to keep my fitness up. Hopefully no injuries will get in my way,” Luke Shaw continued.
“As a team we have maybe not met our standards yet, but we have meetings about it and evaluate our game.
“We feel good and hopefully will continue to get better and better – I think we can do that.”
