Last season, during a 1-1 draw with West Ham United, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was fined £16,000 and handed a one match ban last after getting sent to the stands for kicking a water bottle. Mourinho kicked a water bottle again last night, during the thrilling come from behind 3-2 victory at Crystal Palace, but it appears that the Portugese will escape punishment this time.

In an interview with Sky Sports after the exciting comeback victory, Mourinho said: “It was empty. One thing is with a referee and another thing is the basic frustration with the game without any kind of aggressiveness and good fun with the people behind.”

“Maybe they like me here because I keep saying this stadium and these fans are absolutely beautiful.”

While his side was trailing and playing with little to no attack or creativity, Mourinho took his anger out on said water bottle, and he sent it into the crowd of spectators behind the dugout. Mourinho immediately apologized to the Eagles supporters.

According to Press Association Sport, the FA don’t believe they need to take any further action. The Football Association is reportedly satisfied with how the officials at Selhurst Park handled the incident.
