Without question, it’s the biggest match of the year thus far in the Premier League: Manchester City at Liverpool FC. The two current table toppers, pretty much the only two sides that anybody is picking to win the league title this season will stage a titanic clash tomorrow at Anfield.
It’s going to attract a massive audience. How massive? Well, according to ESPN FC , one billion viewers, yes that’s a billion with a “b.” The publication also states that the match will be shown in 179 of the 193 United Nations member countries.
Reaching a billion viewers is certainly a very ambitious goal, and we’ll just have to wait until the ratings numbers come out on Monday to see, but we do know for sure that this game has a ton of interest. Liverpool have three out of their last four meetings against City and eliminated them from the UEFA Champions League last season.
On the other hand, City smashed numerous records last season as they cruised towards the title, so they are the favorites until somebody knocks them off their throne.
They are level with Liverpool on points, but hold a sizable advantage in goal differential.
It promises to be an exciting one, here’s everything you need to know to enjoy this match.
