It continues to be a very exciting summer at Liverpool, with a whole lot going on at Anfield. The preseason exhibition games have already begun for the Reds, and there is certainly no shortage of topics to discuss today.

So let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet this Thursday.

The headliner story today is obviously Alisson Becker, who became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper when Liverpool plucked him away from AS Roma for almost £67 million. The Brazilian #1 has passed his medical and is now officially official.

At this link, watch manager Jurgen Klopp video bomb Alisson’s first interview as a member of Liverpool. When the Brazilian was asked if he is currently in the middle of his post-World Cup vacation, he affirmed, but then, as anyone would do when their boss is in the room followed up with “But now I am working.”

Here is the message Alisson gave to Liverpool supporters everywhere:

Liverpool’s first addition of the transfer (well second, perhaps, as Naby Keita was signed last year) window, Fabinho, joked that he’s working on recruiting Kylian Mbappe to leave Paris Saint-Germain and join Liverpool.

The Brazilian told reporters about the sport’s next big thing: “Kylian Mbappe sent me a text message congratulating me for coming to Liverpool.”

“Unfortunately I have not had a chance to congratulate him for what he did during this World Cup. What France did was fantastic. What Mbappe did in two years of professional football is amazing.”

He is a phenomenon and needs to be congratulated, and as soon as I have the chance I will.”

“He has already said for this season he will remain at PSG, but I will try slowly to convince him to come over.”

-Finally, congratulations to Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold for being named the 12th most valuable player in the world under the age of 21. SoccerEx uses data from Prime Time Sport’s Football Value Index, a metric that encompasses both on and off the pitch traits.
