It continues to be a very exciting summer at Liverpool, with a whole lot going on at Anfield. The preseason exhibition games have already begun for the Reds, and there is certainly no shortage of topics to discuss today.

So let’s take a spin through the latest news and notes items making the rounds on the internet this Thursday.

The headliner story today is obviously Alisson Becker, who became the world’s most expensive goalkeeper yesterday when Liverpool plucked him away from AS Roma for around £67 million. The Brazilian #1 passed his medical yesterday and is now officially a member of the Reds.

So how far can Liverpool go now that they have Alisson in place? Here’s a link to a really good feature on ESPN FC, which takes the point of view that the Premier League title talk is a little premature.

“That (title aspirations) seems presumptuous, though, completely ignoring the reigning champions (Manchester City) and their 100 points,” ESPN Liverpool blogger Steven Kelly writes.

-With Alisson now in place, what does that mean for Loris Karius? Does he still have a place at Anfield? “Loris Karius will have no redemptive arc at Liverpool,” writes Seb Stafford-Bloor of Football 365.

“Whatever else he does in his career, the shadows of Kiev will never entirely disappear.”

-Sticking with Liverpool goalkeepers, Danny Ward was sold off to Leicester City. The Welshman commanded a transfer fee of £10 million, here’s a link to the Daily Mirror, who have more.

-Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Christian Pulisic is in Chicago right now set to take on Manchester City, in a friendly at Soldier Field. Pulisic responded to a question about the transfer rumors surrounding him, as he’s been linked to Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

“It’s not distracting at all to me. I don’t pay too much attention to it,” Pulisic told the media at a very noisy sponsored event Thursday (he was not made available during normal media opportunities).

“Right now I’m focused with Dortmund. I want to have a good preseason. That’s all I can focus on right now.”
