Liverpool head to Huddersfield Town on Saturday in a match-up between two German managers who are close friends. Jurgen Klopp leads the Reds who are level on points with Chelsea and Manchester City at the top of the table. Liverpool sit third however due to goal differential.
David Wagner, considered one of the bright, up-and-coming managers in the game today leads a Terriers side that has yet to win a league match this season. Thus far, they have achieved three draws and suffered five losses. They currently reside in 18th place, or the last slot that gets sent down.
Not much was expected of Huddersfield this season, but getting relegated would obviously be a disaster as they were only promoted to the top flight in May of 2017.
Saturday’s match will be the 78th edition of the series, one in which the Terriers shockingly have had the advantage. They have claimed 31 wins in the history of the match-up, while Liverpool have 29. The two sides have played to 17 draws. Liverpool beat Huddersfield by a score of 3-0 in both of their meetings last season, but they come into this one winless in their last four across all competitions.
However, Huddersfield is winless in their last 12, so we’ll back Klopp to pick up the road victory this weekend.
