Coming off a very emotional win in the Merseyside derby, Liverpool FC will look to make sure they don’t suffer a let-down in midweek at Burnley. Sunday’s win was actually too emotional for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, who celebrated the win in a manner that was so over-the-top that he charged by the Football Association for misconduct.
Klopp has since apologized for his actions. He’ll take the league’s second place side to the Turf Moor to face the team that’s currently second from the bottom. Naturally, the Reds are heavily favored in this one, but they could be without one of their fab three.
Winger Sadio Mane faces a late fitness test due to, reportedly, a cut on his foot. Defender Andrew Robertson is also a doubt due to what’s been described as a dead leg.
Flipping over to the hosts, Robbie Brady suffered an ankle injury last time out and likely won’t be ready in time for the midweek clash. Stephen Ward and Nick Pope remain long term absentees.
