Fabinho, the Liverpool midfielder who just moved over to Liverpool this past summer, has been heavily linked in transfer rumors lately. It seems kind of absurd that he could be out the door already, but numerous outlets have reported that Paris Saint-Germain have an interest in picking him up.
Additionally, Corriere dello Sport claimed that AC Milan are ready to scoop him up. The Daily Express said that Juventus are interested in the the 25-year-old as well. Fabinho refuted all these claims and stated his desire to remain at Anfield.
“I was told there was something in the press, but I never said I’d like to leave Liverpool,” Fabinho said in an interview with UOL Esporte. “I knew I would need to have patience to wait for my moment.
“I’m happy at Liverpool. There is no reason for me to leave.”
Fabinho has only gradually been integrated into the team at Liverpool, and only in mid-season. It was not until the team suffered injures in midfield that he was provided an opportunity to play.
Milan, it had been claimed, wanted to take him on loan in January before then seeking a chance to make the deal permanent.
Overall however, this transfer rumor, or any of the others for that matter, just don’t seem to pass the smell test; especially given how much Liverpool paid for him and how recently they acquired him.
