When Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left Arsenal to join Liverpool this summer, you can be almost certain that he never expected to have something like this happen to him. The Reds winger, alongside teammates Dominic Solanke and Andrew Robertson, took part in a prank staged by MBNA America Bank.
It was a prank that completely backfired on him in hilarious fashion. The Ox donned a fake beard and went undercover in the official Liverpool Football Club store to mingle with fans and shoppers.
It was all part of a video episode, dubbed “School of Scouse” that was directed by club legend Robbie Fowler.
Oxlade-Chamberlain approaches a young Reds fan in the store with a replica of his own jersey.
“Do you want to buy this? He’s going to be a superstar,” says a covert Oxlade-Chamberlain, referring to himself in the third person.
“One day… but we’ve been saying that for 10 years now,” the young LFC supporter responds.
Oh snap! Wow! He got served.
