Chelsea Team News, Starting XI Prediction vs Valencia, Barkley Returns

Share

Chelsea FC head to Valencia tomorrow night for a UEFA Champions League group stage clash, and they’ll do so with a nearly fully fit squad. English international Ross Barkley is back in the mix, providing Frank Lampard a massive injury boost. Barkley has been out since the 1-0 win over Newcastle United when he suffered an ankle injury.

He was initially called up to Three Lions camp for the international break, but had to drop out as the problem flared up again. After missing out against Manchester City on the weekend, he’s returned to training now.

Elsewhere, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Antonio Rüdiger are ruled out of this match while Callum Hudson-Odoi is a doubt after having missed the loss to City due to a hamstring problem.

So that all said, let’s take a look at who manager Frank Lampard may select for his first team, having plenty of options to choose from .

Chelsea FC Starting XI Prediction (4-3-3) vs Valencia (UCL Group Stage)

  Pulisic      Abraham     Willian

  Jorginho     Kante    Mount

        Azpilicueta      Tomori        Zouma     Alonso

Chelsea and Valencia have acquired the same results thus far in group stage competition, two wins a draw and a loss, so obviously they are level on points in the standings.

The La Liga side won the reverse fixture, in match day one, 1-0. So this will be a tough match for the Blues.
