With yesterday’s huge win in the UEFA Champions League at Ajax, Chelsea has now won six straight since getting beat by Liverpool, and they have been very dominant in those wins. With a goal differential of 17-3 in those six, the Blues bring momentum and confidence to their next league fixture at Burnley on Saturday.
Michy Batshuayi and Christian Pulisic, two young and talented players who have been fighting for places in the side, combined to create the game’s only goal, and it’s pretty amazing when considering just 17 days ago we were writing articles like this, about how manager Frank Lampard said finding playing time would be a problem for the duo.
Pulisic had admitted to being frustrated with the situation, and the transfer rumors that were already beginning to circulate.
“I’ve tried to shut my ears to a lot of the outside talk … I understand his quality, his young age and the fact that it’s a big move for him,” Lampard said of the American.
“He wants to know what I want from him, what the Premier League is like and that’s not always an easy ride but we’ve stayed calm and kept looking at the big picture.”
