Brazilian striker Alexandre Pato has been keen on a move to the English Premier League for quite some time. Previously, we’ve heard Tottenham Hotspur linked with a move for Pato, as he would have been their plan B should they miss out on their first choice again- West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino.
Spurs lost interest in Berahino, opening the door for Alexandre Pato to move to White Hart Lane, but it’s a different London club who have acquired him now.
Yes, Chelsea have closed the deal. Stamford Bridge had their Alexandre Pato loan deal product rollout today. Here’s the Tweet from the official account-

Pato’s six-month loan move from Corinthians to Chelsea is finalized.
“I am so happy to sign for Chelsea,” Pato said. “It is a dream for me. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know my new teammates and cannot wait to play.
“I thank Chelsea for their support and hope I can repay this faith to the club and its fans.”
Before the Alexandre Pato deal was announced, Interim Manager Guus Hiddink discussed where his newest acquisition might fit in:
“I haven’t watched him live but I watched him in several videos.”
“He was used to playing at Milan as a striker and we want him to play as a striker as well — but maybe in a slightly different style, second or third to Diego. He must play in that area.
“Recently he played a little bit more as a No. 10 [for Sao Paulo] and he can play on the left or right side of an advanced midfield position.”
