Always look forward to when ESPN FC and Analyst Shaka Hislop release their/his weekly power rankings of all the teams in Europe (which is a de facto power rankings for every team in the world, since European footy is the strongest of all). Chelsea remain the world’s top five this week.
They’re currently top of the table, leading Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City by ten points with just 11 left to play. The Blues have the title wrapped up and then some.
Right now the quest at Stamford Bridge is to try and break several club and league records with their finish. They would need to run the table in order to get there, which is of course still a massive challenge, but when you look at what Antonio Conte has accomplished in his first season, it’s entirely possible.
11 Wins get them to 32 on the season and 99 points, which would be records.
Here are the latest ESPN FC power rankings, via Shaka Hislop:
1. Juventusย
2. Bayern
3. Real Madrid
4. Barcelona ย ย
5 .Chelsea
8. Tottenham Hotspur ย
The two London clubs are the only Premier League representatives in the list. Manchester City dropped out of the rankings this week. ย Go here in order to see #6, #7, #9 and #10 in the power rankings.
