Arsenal FC Manager Arsene Wenger said yesterday that the team will spend “big money” on the right player.
He added, of course that this would only happen with the right player. We know it likely won’t be Gonzalo Higuain. Obviously, earlier this window we learned it won’t be Jamie Vardy, Apparently, it won’t be Riyad Mahrez either.
So who will it be? According to Wenger, there are looking at two players, one for the attack and another for the back line.
“We look still for an offensive position and defensive position,” Wenger told the Arsenal website before admitting that it won’t be easy.
“We are very active on the transfer market but it’s a long time to go. Everybody has a handbrake on at the moment. It’s a little bit of a poker game until mid-August in my opinion. So we might have to be good at poker.”
Arsenal FC has only had one major signing this summer, Granit Xhaka, but it did involve a big £30 million fee. They did also sign Japanese youngster Takuma Asano.
