Arsenal FC handed AFC Bournemouth their third straight Premier League loss today as the Gunners showed a lot of grit (although what was that they were wearing today? they looked like a diluted bottle of Windex) in a 2-1 win at the Vitality Stadium today. Arsenal, after three straight draws, finally got all three points again, and finish the weekend in fifth place, just one behind arch-rivals Chelsea.
Bournemouth drop down to eighth. Let’s take a look at some of the news and notes from a fiercely contested league fixture.
Sead Kolasinac, was deemed the man of the match, and he slotted a low cross the way of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who then converted a sliding shot into goal for the game winner. Watch below:

For Kolasic, his pass was definitely a thing of beauty. For Aubameyang, the scoring strike put him level with Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero at the top of the Premier League scoring charts (8).
A Jefferson Lerma own goal opened the scoring, but Josh King equalized for Bournemouth and we were deadlocked at halftime. Arsenal are just one of two teams (Cardiff are the other) to not have a lead at the break in any Premier League game this season.
However, they did come out roaring in the second half, and now have four road PL wins this season, matching their total from all of the 2017-18 league campaign.

While this was an admirable victory, which conveyed all the progress that has been made this season (the north London side has is now undefeated in their last 17 across all competitions) there were some not-so-bright-spots in this one. Shkodran Mustafi is currently a top trending term on Twitter right now, but for all the wrong reasons.
He got absolutely slammed by Gunners supporters on social media all over the world, here is just a sample of some of the more “colorful” offerings.
Mustafi just finds new ways to be even more stupid every single week.

Mustafi plays a brilliant 93 mins and then does something very stupid. His game summed up in a nutshell

In one of our games this season, we blamed Mustafi for not fouling a player before he got to our box which eventually led to a goal.
Today, we are blaming Mustafi for fouling a player just before the box.
We need to be consistent?

Mustafi needs a brain transplant. It’s the only way the man can be saved.
