Sunday brings a renewal of one of the Premier League’s most spirited rivalries- the North London derby. In looking at the series history, Arsenal have won the majority of the previous entanglements with Tottenham Hotspur, as they 82 wins, to go against Spurs’ 64 victories and 52 draws.
Arsenal, much like last season, are a whole lot better at home than on the road. However, Tottenham did get a win at the Emirates last season, a 2-0 League Cup win. However, it’s been awhile since Arsenal lost at home to Spurs in league play (2010).
As it stands, we have a two horse league title race (Liverpool and Manchester City), but it is Arsenal who currently sit third, so maybe it’s the Gunners who have the best chance of turning the league into a three contender competition?
Getting a resounding win over a big six rival would certainly send that kind of message, yes? Let’s take a look at what kind of lineup Unai Emery might go with.
