In a 2-1 loss to newly promoted Brighton & Hove Albion, Arsenal had numerous players that could be scapegoated, but it was goalkeeper Petr Cech who took full responsibility. Although there was plenty of poor defending all around in this Gunners side, Cech took blame for both first half goals.
The Arsenal #1 posted on Twitter, just a couple minutes after the game: “If you want to win a game away of home in the best league in the world your GK can’t concede 2 goals like I did today…it’s simply not possible…The team fought back but the damage was done.”

Today’s defeat marked the fourth straight loss for Arsenal across all competitions. This loss essentially eliminated them from the race for the top four, if the midweek blowout at the hands of Manchester City hadn’t already.
They’re now 13 points behind rival Tottenham Hotspur, with just nine left to play. In other words, the #WengerOut pitchforks, always with strong momentum it seems lately, will be ramped up again.
