It’s a very exciting summer transfer window at Arsenal FC, with plenty of comings and goings. A new era has begun under recently minted manager Unai Emery, who continues making over the north London side in his vision.
Let’s take a spin through the latest transfer rumors and gossip making the rounds on the internet today. As always, until the deal is official, take transfer rumors with a grain of salt.
FootyAccumulators provide the latest football news and free betting tips where you can keep up to date on the summer transfer window. Long time midfielder Jack Wilshere has officially left the club, and is now available on a free transfer. Sky Sports reports that he is very close to agreeing to staying in London, with a move to West Ham United.
According to The Daily Star, Newcastle and Everton are also interested in Wilshere.
Meanwhile former Palace chairman Simon Jordan said on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT about Wilshere today: “Where he will land? I mean, Palace okay. Cabaye has just left, and they took a punt with Cabaye because he is that sort of a player. Maybe Crystal Palace would be a place for him to land.” (h/t HITC)
-Elsewhere, German outlet Kicker implies that Bayern Munich can beat out both Arsenal and Manchester United in the derby to sign Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard. France are now through to the World Cup semi-finals, and Pavard has been one of the heroes for Les Bleus.
NBC Sports writes that “the deal likely wouldn’t be completed until 2019 though, despite Bayern currently boasting one of the world’s top right backs in Joshua Kimmich.”
-Finally, Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes wants out of his “hell” at the Camp Nou, and Arsenal has him on their radar.
“Maybe it’s not the correct word but it turned into a bit of a hell, because I started to feel more pressure,” Gomes revealed.
“With pressure I feel fine, but with pressure on myself, I don’t. The feeling that I have during games is bad.”
The “hell” refers to the huge expectations that have come with his high price tag- Barca paid €35 million for him in 2016. If the Emirates want to land Gomes, they will reportedly need to raise some funds to cover his very large £86 million release clause.
Team Talk writes “that Arsenal may be forced to sell Aaron Ramsey due to his difficult contract situation,” citing a report from Mundo Deportivo.
