Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech said Sunday that he enjoys the changes in tactics and philosophy under new manager Unai Emery. It was clear during the Gunners’ loss to Manchester City though that he seems to be struggling with some of the adjustments. Cech struggled in playing the ball out of the back, which led to Bayer Leverkusen’s official Twitter account trolling him.
Bayer sold their former goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, to Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and the manager of their Twitter account made a couple postings suggesting Arsenal replace Cech with Leno. These were not subtle jabs, and they understandably angered the 36 year old Czech Republic international.
Here below is the tweet where he called the Bundesliga club sad and unprofessional for their actions, and also the response from Leverkusen, which was sort of an apology:
Hi Petr. It seems our joke about wanting to see Leno, our former player, in action has been taken a bit more harshly/personally than intended. It was only a bit of banter. We’re all for the values you’ve stated and wish you and your big club all the best. Nice 1v1 save on Aguero!

AS Roma and Ajax Cape Town quickly jumped into the fray (sort of), as both clubs tweeted a GIF in the “popcorn” category, which is used to convey a sentiment of “hey, I’m just watching this and really enjoying it.”
The trolling of Cech didn’t stop there either. In fact Cech even re-tweeted one of his trolls.
Maybe try to google what professionalism really means … https://t.co/PduZrS251e

On that second back and forth, all we have to say is “Cech mate!”
