It’s the last international break of the season, and thus, Arsenal FC are currently off until April 1, when they host Newcastle United. We don’t have a game to talk about for awhile, but there are plenty of transfer rumors to discuss. The summer transfer window doesn’t open for awhile yet, but the futures of many key Arsenal players remains up in the air.
Let’s take a spin through the inter webs and see what’s buzzing in Gunners cyberspace right now in regards to summer transfer rumors.
We start with Swiss international Granit Xhaka, who moved over from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2016. The 26-year-old made some very surprising comments while on international duty with Switzerland, telling Tagblatt:
“I’m very ambitious, I want to take the next step. Arsenal does not have to be the last stop.”
Xhaka signed a five year contract extension just one year ago.
In staying with the midfield, Arsenal have to figure out who will replace Aaron Ramsey this summer, with the Welshman now off to Juventus at the end of the season. While Ramsey is headed to Italy, Arsenal are reportedly looking there to see who might take his place.
The primary target is reportedly Franck Kessie, of AC Milan, according to Calciomercato.
The Italian outlet reports that Kessie is in very high demand, writing that he’s “often been targeted by Beijing Guoan in China, and also has admirers in the Premier League: Tottenham, West Ham and Arsenal.”
