The heat on Arsenal manager Unai Emery is absolutely scorching right now. The draw to Southampton on the weekend should have been a loss, and it certainly felt like one to their fan base. The Gunners are certainly sputtering domestically, and it remains to be seen how much more rope Emery will be given.
In Europe however, Arsenal have looked really good, with a chance to secure their place in the UEFA Europa League knockout round tomorrow night if/when they can get a result at home against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Gunners come in sitting atop group F with 10 points. They’re the only team in their group with a positive goal differential (+8), and they’ll take on a side that’s sitting third, but only via tie-breaker, in Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga side is level on points and goal differential with second place Standard Liege, so passage to the UEL round of 32 is there to be had if they can step up.
You know they’ll enter this match with a lot of ambition. With all that said, let’s take a look at what first team Emery may select for this one.
