Arsenal FC, fresh off a very decisive win over Eintract Frankfurt in the Europa League group stage competition last night, will have a quick turnaround when they host Aston Villa on Sunday. Manager Unai Emery, having rotated his squad for the Euro affair, will now have to some selection decisions for the domestic tilt on Sunday.
Defender Sead Kolasinac was subbed off Thursday night due to a minor issue, but he still might be fit in time. Rob Holding may be in contention as well. Joe Willock scored versus Eintracht Frankfurt, and he’ll look to hopefully feature again, but with Mesut Ozil having been rested, one can expect the German to come back into the team.
“I think every player can be important for us,” said Emery.
“Sometimes we are going to have one plan and we’ll need to change that to use different players in each match.”
“We have some new players and players who we need to work with for their adaptation in the next matches. Progressively, they’re getting better.”
The Gunners will be without the services of their three long term absentees: Alexandre Lacazette, Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney.
Matt Targett is back for Aston Villa while Jonathan Kodjia and James Chester remain out.
