Due to both time constraints, and the lack of popularity surrounding this specific program, the Utah State edition of the college football 77 in 77 will be much briefer than other editions.
But hey, at least you’re not South Carolina. Due to the belligerence, rudeness and pure idiocy of a small subset of Gamecocks fans, the SC Gamecocks will not be previewed this college football season.
Utah State reasons to get EXCITED! ALL CAPS!: they play in a very weak conference, and they’ll feast on it. Schedule is easy. The Aggies return 7 starters to a defense that was especially stout against the run, and great overall. Utah State won 11 games and finished the season ranked #16 in the final poll. A lot of talent from that team returns.
Utah State reasons to get worried :( They just moved up to a tougher conference, so they’ll inevitably take a step back this year. USU also plays in Romney Stadium, a venue the size of the United Center (capacity wise). But hey at least someone connected to the Romney namesake won in 2012. And maybe Mitt didn’t win, but there was regime change related to Utah, the Aggies have a new coach. And it’s always tough to predict the uncertainty relating to a new man in charge.
Utah State Key games: With BYU, Utah and USC, plus a tougher than usual conference slate, they won’t go anywhere near 11-2, 6-0 again.
Utah State bottom line: 7-5ish with an appearance in a fourth or fifth tier bowl.
Key & Peele East/West College Bowl Roster: Tay Glover-Wright, La’Bradford Harold, Bridger Peck, Dayton DeLoach
For the 2013 College Football rankings 1-77
#76 Kansas Jayhawks
#70 Minnesota Golden Gophers
#65 NC State Wolfpack
