Penn State Campus Now Rioting, Demonstrating (Photos)

In a span of five days, we’ve seen the Penn State Nittany Lions sex scandal go from breaking news story, to earth-shattering scandal to surreal,”take a moment to remember where you are” type of media circus.

And it’s perfectly understandable, since new information breaks every hour, and the situation gets darker, weirder, sadder and indicative of the worst elements in human nature every time news breaks.

Now the students in University Park have taken to the streets, yes they are demonstrating, rioting. Yes rallying and taking grassroots political action supporting Joe Paterno. Now that JoePa has been fired, that town is going to burn.

Here are some photos:

When I say “riot” we’re talking general shenanigans. It’s been about 10 years since anybody has lit something on fire.

People who just started following me…so all of you, ought to know, Penn State riots for just about anything. Literally anything.

Still there’s tear gas, Beaver Ave blocked off and lined with state troopers.

  1. And it’s perfectly understandable, since new information breaks every hour, and the situation gets darker, weirder, sadder and indicative of the worst elements in human nature every time news breaks.

BEST SENTENCE YOU’VE EVER WRITTEN at least that i’ve seen

    Cheers PB

  2. thanks man! this whole thing hurts more on than PSU, but the big ten, and college football in general. those fans are just……i heard they peed once on the ohio st marching band.

seeing how primitive and groupthink dominated they are tonight….ack

  3. All this just validates my notion that sports “loving” college kids are just young buffoons. The more successful the team, the bigger retatrds (take that Sarah Palin lovers) the fans. Even a CNN reporter, a graduate of PSU, said the the campus “enjoys their protests” and followed up with a list of all the shenanigans that have taken place in the school’s history. If those rioters had a brain to think with, they’d realize the school fired him to prevent a media circus at every game, press conference, etc. It would be distracting to players, a deficit to have him around campus, and bad publicity. It all boils down to the BUSINESS of sports. Paterno & the school shpuld’ve considered all that when they buried their heads in the sand about one of their guys raping children in their facilities. The students should wonder how they’d feel about all of this if some old man blew them in a shower & no one did one thing about it.
