ESPN’s SEC Network has hired LSU legend Booger McFarland as a college football analyst. Booger will be a TV talking head when the network launches August 14th.
McFarland is a two-time Super Bowl champion. Said Stephanie Druley, ESPN vice president, production of college networks: “Booger brings a built-in knowledge of the conference as a former player and proven success covering sports with a diverse opinion.”
Booger McFarland joins ESPN after hosting a radio show in Tampa since 2012. Drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the 1999 NFL Draft, he was a main fixture on their defensive line for seven years, winning a Super Bowl under “Chucky” Jon Gruden. Booger McFarland went on to win a second Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts before retiring in 2007.
“I think the SEC is the best conference in the country with the best fans,” said Booger McFarland. “I look forward to covering it from a variety of angles for the SEC Network when it launches in August.”
