On Monday, April 15th, tax day actually, President Barack Obama will welcome the BCS National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide at the White House to honor their 15th national championship and their exceptional 2012-2013 season. I’m sure Crimson Tide at the White House day might include a mention or two of the Tide’s utter destruction of Notre Dame in a title game which ended at the coin flip.
The POTUS will also continue his tradition of honoring championship sports teams, but I’m guessing this will be a hard media credential to obtain.
President Obama will make his remarks honoring the BCS National Champion University of Alabama at 2:05 eastern. But for national security reasons, Crimson Tide at the White House day has stringent media admission standards. As it should:
Members of the media who wish to cover this event must RSVP to EMAIL ADDRESS REDACTED with the subject line “Alabama” before 12:00PM EDT Sunday, April 14.
NOTE: Members of the media who do not have a White House hard pass must also submit their full name, date of birth, Social Security number, gender, country of birth, country of citizenship and current city and state of residence. If we are able to accommodate your request for credentials, we will send a confirmation with further instructions and logistical details.
Let’s hope this day has a moment like another “Barack Obama meets champion athlete day.”
