Spanish publication AS (h/t Daily Mirror) held a poll among Real Madrid supporters asking them which of the club’s summer transfer window targets they would most like to see in a white shirt next season. Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard, who by all indicative clues will be making the switch after the Europa League Final on May 29, topped the list.

Six names were presented and more than 160,000 respondents showed up. While Hazard topped the list, Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba came in dead last. That’s very interesting, especially when you consider how Hazard was regarded the biggest snub from the PFA Team of the Year plaudit, and Pogba the most undeserving player to get awarded a place in the side.

European Glory in Liverpool FC’s DNA Says UCL Legend Vladimir Smicer

Liverpool FC are in the UEFA Champions League final for the second consecutive season, and should they beat Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid on June 1, the Merseysiders will then have sole possession of third place on the list of European Cup/UCL titles won.

As it stands, they are tied with Bayern Munich for third place at five European titles won, trailing AC Milan’s seven and Real Madrid’s 13.

Liverpool #1, Spurs #2 as England Dominates Global Power Rankings

Liverpool FC are looking very strong as they head into their all-England UEFA Champions League final versus Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid on June 1. at arch-rival Manchester United. Their fine form (third highest season point total in Premier League history/most points ever for a runner-up) has resulted in their retaining the top spot this week in Shaka Hislop’s global power rankings.

The table composed by the former goalkeeper and current ESPN FC pundit is a world order, but it’s all Europe this week, and almost every week. With both Euro finals being all-England match-ups, it’s no surprise that British sides dominate the list.

Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction vs Everton FC

When Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino fields his starting lineup tomorrow, in the final game of the regular season, expect him to do a fair amount of squad rotation. Spurs have already locked up a top four berth, and thus have nothing left to play for domestically.

Although the UEFA Champions League final in Madrid against Liverpool isn’t until three weeks away, Pochettino will certainly take to the pitch with that titanic clash in mind, and field his team accordingly.

Tottenham vs Everton Injury Report: Vertonghen, Kane, Winks, Rose, Coleman

Tottenham Hotspur hosts Everton in a Championship Sunday match-up of two sides looking ahead, and for very different reasons. For the home side, the date circled is June when they’ll battle Liverpool in Madrid for the UEFA Champions League title.

It’s a match-up where trophy droughts are guaranteed to end. For the away side, it’s time to think about the summer transfer window, and with that how to not be so wasteful in player acquisition spending. That all said, let’s take a look at the fitness and availability situation for both clubs.

Liverpool or Tottenham Will See a Trophy Drought End in UCL Final

On June 1, in the capital city of Spain, a couple of streaks will fall by the wayside in the UEFA Champions League Final. The home to Atletico Madrid will see England win its first UCL since Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in 2012.

This match-up, between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, will see a trophy drought end for one of the two clubs. It will also see either the first trophy of the Mauricio Pochettino era at Tottenham, or (pending Championship Sunday’s results) the Jurgen Klopp era at Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochettino Hints at Leaving if Tottenham Hotspur Win Champions League

It remains to be seen just how serious Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was with these specific comments that he made today at his prematch press conference ahead of the away leg of the UEFA Champions League semifinal tie with Ajax.

Only Pochettino, who stands a good chance of guiding Spurs to their fourth consecutive top three Premier League finishes, really knows for sure how much he actually means what he said here. Poch indicated that he could potentially be okay with walking away on top, shout he lead the north London side to a European title.

Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction at Ajax: UCL Semifinal Leg 2/2

Tottenham Hotspur have failed to score in four of their last five matches across all competitions, and they put up a goose egg in the first/home leg of their UCL semifinal tie with Ajax. It’s clear that they really miss Harry Kane right now. They were also without Heung-Min Son at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week, due to a suspension.

He’ll be back this week, and the north London side hopes that his return can inspire some badly needed scoring. At least Tottenham have this going for them- one goal is enough to get them through. That’s all it takes to advance to the final in Madrid, due to the goal differential tie-breaker.

Ajax Starting XI Prediction vs Tottenham Hotspur: UCL Semifinal Leg 2/2

In the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final tie last week at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week, Ajax made club history by recording their first ever victory over the north London side in three attempts. They take a 1-0 lead on aggregate into the second leg in Amsterdam on Wednesday night.

As for the other two meeting, they were beaten pretty soundly on aggregate, 6-1, in the two-legged UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup tie in 1981. The Dutch side is moving closer towards what looks like an all but inevitable at this point date with FC Barcelona in the UCL Final.

While England was the only country to place two teams into the UEFA Champions League semifinals, the prospects for either to advance to the final are not good. Tottenham Hotspur stand a much better chance than Liverpool, as they only have to overturn a one goal deficit, not three.

They travel to the Johan Cruyff Arena on Wednesday night, for the second leg of their semi-final tie/one of the biggest matches in recent club history. Let’s take a look at the fitness situation for both sides, starting with the visitors.

Tottenham Injury Report at Bournemouth: Vertonghen, Aurier, Winks, Lamela, Kane

Tottenham Hotspur will have yet another injury concern when they head to Dean Court and face AFC Bournemouth in Premier League competition this Saturday. Central defender Jan Vertonghen missed the defeat at the hands of West Ham last weekend, but returned for the midweek 1-0 loss to his former club Ajax in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal clash.

The Belgian international suffered a sickening clash of heads with teammate and fellow centre back Toby Alderweireld in the first half, but was worryingly permitted to play on for another minute or so, before concussion protocol forced him to the sidelines.

Tottenham Hotspur Starting XI Prediction at AFC Bournemouth

There are a wide array of potential final outcomes to Tottenham Hotspur’s season, and no matter what happens, it will be very dramatic. Spurs lost 1-0 at home in midweek to Ajax, the first leg of their UCL semifinal tie, and things just currently don’t look good on the European front.

Sure, they can still turn that tie around and go through to the Champions League final, but if they do it looks like Barcelona await, and right now Barca just is not messing around. Domestically, third place Spurs still haven’t clinched a top four spot, but it also looks very unlikely that fifth place Arsenal will rise up and overtake them.
