fc barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur crushed lowly Huddersfield Town over the weekend 2-0, giving the north London side a three game winning streak, and perhaps that will provide them some positive mojo to take into their challenge, as it’s a big one!

Spurs welcome FC Barcelona to London, and it’s a match where they need to take at least one point after having lost their UEFA Champions League opener 2-1 to Inter Milan. They will be in a very deep hole if they end up taking a combined zero points from their first two matches in group stage competition.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Will Open in 2018, Mauricio Pochettino Maintains

The new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at White Hart Lane has seen its opening delayed at least a couple times, but Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino remains hopeful about the timeline. It was originally supposed to be ready for Spurs’ clash on September 15th against Liverpool, but issues with “critical safety systems” made that impossible.

Then we were told it could be ready for the Manchester City contest on October 29th, or perhaps just after that in November. Now it’s realistically looking like January 2019, although the THFC party line still claims 2018 is possible. Pochettino, speaking ahead of a League Cup clash that Spurs will “host” at Milton Keynes, 50 miles outside of London, says he’s confident the new facility will be christened in 2018.

If Spurs are serious about contending for the league title this season, then they can’t afford to be dropping points in matches such as these.

Spurs, who now sit fifth in the table, will be without a couple of key players in this clash against the league’s 13th side.
